BGIA boasts an extensive alumni/ae network. Graduates of the program have gone on to pursue graduate studies at Columbia University School of Public Health, Georgetown School of Foreign Service, Harvard Kennedy School, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Study, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Yale Law School, and many more. Graduates have also gone on to work at the Council on Foreign Relations, Doctors Without Borders, Demos, Foreign Policy, International Center for Transitional Justice, Open Society Foundations, US State Department, World Bank, United Nations and many others.

Anup Kaphle, Deputy Foreign Editor for BuzzFeed News
Anup is the Deputy Foreign Editor at BuzzFeed News. He is currently based in New York, where he oversees the publication’s international news coverage. He previously worked as the digital foreign editor at The Washington Post in Washington, D.C., and has reported from and written on Afghanistan for The Washington Post and The Atlantic. Anup has a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he won the Henry N. Taylor Award, given to the top international student.
Marina Multhaup, Research & Policy Fellow for the Center for WorkLife Law at University of California Hastings College of Law
Marina is the Research & Policy Fellow for the Center for WorkLife Law at UC Hastings College of Law. Her research focuses on implicit gender and racial bias in the workplace with the goal of creating tools that organizations can use to interrupt this bias. She is a co-author of What Works for Women at Work: A Workbook, and has published articles in Harvard Business Review and the National Law Journal.
Joanna Gillia, People Programs Specialist - Leadership Career Support for Google
Joanna is a Program Manager in Google's People Operations organization. She works with Google's directors and vice presidents to help them continue to develop their careers within the company. She's held multiple positions at Google over the last few years, including managing and developing computer science education programs for students from underrepresented backgrounds. Previously, she was a Leadership Analyst in the U.S. intelligence community focusing on Latin America. Joanna received a full merit scholarship and earned her MA from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in International Security Studies.
Barbara Hanis, International Communication and PR Consultant for Gedeon Richter Plc
Barbara very recently began a new job as an international communication and PR consultant at Gedeon Richter Plc, which is a Hungarian headquartered, innovation-driven specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to this, she worked in the Ministry of Defense as a defense policy desk officer of the Ministerial Cabinet as well as a political advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office. Barbara received her MA in American studies from Eötvös Loránd University and wrote a thesis entitled, “Soft Power in American Diplomacy: The Means to Success or Decline?”
